ABOUT US
The Adirondack Balloon Festival is not only one of the largest ballooning events in the nation, it is the largest ballooning event in the nation that is organized strictly by volunteers, and has been since its origin. The Festival is a not for profit corporation and is designated as a 501(C)(6) by the IRS. The Festival completes IRS FORM 990 annually. This document can be viewed upon request.

The Festival is funded by advertising and sponsorship revenue, sale of merchandise, participating vendor contributions, and occupancy tax funding from Warren County and the Town of Queensbury. Warren County and the Town of Queensbury are the event’s biggest contributors; however, they also are the biggest beneficiaries of the economic impact the event generates for the region.
For your support
Thank you!
The Festival is organized by its Board of Directors, its governing body, and the event’s organizing committee that operates under the leadership of the Board. Organizing this event is a labor of love and is completely an ongoing process. Quite often plans are made 2 years out or more. In all cases, planning for the following year is underway before the current year event is held. The committee meets monthly then shifts to weekly as summer approaches. There are also several subcommittees for specific areas including Food Vendors, Craft fair, merchandise committee, and pilot hospitality.
There are approximately 12 key people on the committee and we have up to 30 volunteers the weekend of the event. Sadly, we never have enough volunteers. We would welcome new members to the organizing committee or just as volunteers for the weekend of the event.
